DIY Crayon costume for Halloween

Halloween is my favorite time of year. We spend weeks getting our yard and home decorated all for the night when the little ghosts and goblins come out to play. ;) B started school this year and within her school, they don't do a Halloween per say, they have an orange and black day. So in order to kill 2 birds with one stone, we decided that she is going to be an orange crayon. So with an old t-shirt and a little black felt fabric, this is what I came up with. I think it turned out Awesome! And the best part is that it was a no-sew project. Supplies needed:  1 t-shirt in the size required. 1 box of orange fabric dye (because they didn't' have any orange t-shirts in her size) 1 wooden spoon 1 large container for dying remnant black fabric. I used black felt because that is what I had on hand. 1 pattern for the Crayola font - I used this one Crayola pattern  and made the size adjustments accordingly when I was printing it out. Block printing with fun foam DIY

I dont know how many of you are in the situation of sending your little one off to kindergarten but we have just sent our baby girl off to face the big unknown world. :( We were so worried about separation anxiety and the only anxiety has come from me pacing the floors not know what to do with myself. :o lol So after doing all of those "ill get to it projects" like playing name that food from the freezer and reorganizing the boxes in the basement - which btw was more like Christmas ;) I made a list of projects that have been put on the back burner for the past few years, like the kids scrapbooks. If you have done any scrapbooking or journaling in the past you know how expensive stamps can be, so this is my cost effective versions using just some cut up paint sticks for the backing and the kids fun foam sheets for the designs. The possibilities are endless :) Hope you enjoy

Halloween Creations

My favorite time of the year. Halloween is probably more busy around here then Christmas. 8 bins of Halloween vs. 3 of Christmas. ;) Decorating starts the first weekend in Oct and really doesnt stop. I keep telling my husband that it is a good thing I am not allowed to touch anything electrical or our yard would be animated all year long. HAHAHAHA This year we have moved to a much bigger space so that involves "mom" getting a little more creative. :) These are a few grave markers that i made up a few years ago and the life sized "snot rag" mache devil that I am in the process of finishing up. My husband and neighbout have been busy building my mini fences and everyone has been involved in decorating. Still have to put up the lighting, set up the sound effects, web and spiderize, finish the devils arms, carve the pumpkins .. oh my!!!! Id better get on it. LOL In addition I laso managed to fit in teaching an acrylic one stroke class last weekend. My first one i
