Tangled quilt block #6

This is the newest tangled quilt block.... only 2 more to go. Hope you enjoy.

Customized Santa Bags

One thing I really try and keep alive is the "Magic of Christmas". I want my kids to believe in Santa for as long as they can and now that they are in school it is going to get a little harder every year. So this year I made up these quick Special Delivery bags from the North Pole. I know they are not perfect but Santa's elves are really busy with the millions of bags they have to make every year. They came together so quick. I just worked up the image in my word processor printed it off on the burlap fabric, You can find a tutorial for printing on fabric here and then sewed it on to the pre-made Dollar store gift bag. These are going to be perfect for my little monsters. Hope you enjoy them too.

Pottery Barn/ Bower Power Inspired Santa Painting

Christmas - My second favorite time of the year. Every year we try and add some homemade decorations and after perusing Pinterest I saw this awesome image of Santa and just fell in love with it. Pottery Barn did theirs in silver glitter and Bower Power did theirs in red glitter. Hmmm. 2 young children and a bowl full of glitter is just asking for problems so I did his image in the traditional red and white. I love how he turned out and a wonderful addition to our Christmas decor. He is quite large measuring 2ft * 2ft on a 2inch gallery stretched canvas. Hope you enjoy

It just seems like it is never ending, just when you think you are ahead of the game another project pops up. Well, this project is a collaboration project. My aunt (a major inspiration in my creative life) has asked me to design a couple of zentangled quilt blocks to be used in one of her famous quilting projects. These are the first few, hope you enjoy. They measure 4.75 * 4.75 inch and are done on cotton fabric with micron pigment pens. fish, button, flower and recessed blocks cupcakes, braids and beads flowers and leaves tracks, tentacles, wovens

Displaying family photos doesn't have to be boring - Altered art

This week I decided that our family photo wall needed some updating and maybe a little color so I got to work on these 2 photos of my babies. Somewhere between a scrapbook page and a journal page done with a black and white copy of the photo mod podged to a 4* 6 canvas board. I embellished these with puffy paint, markers, acrylics, stamps, paper cutouts and some mod podge. Hope this inspires you to have a little fun with those family photos.

Doodled lunch bag idea

My daughter needed a lunch bag for school and so I went shopping, but anything pretty was incredibly overpriced for what you get, and being in kindergarten I know we will be going through at least 3 during the year. So while I was at the dollar store I found this "blank canvas", grabbed my fabric markers and turned it into what looks like a designer bag. My girl is so happy, even though it's not pink. ;) Hope this inspires you to turn something boring into something beautiful.

Handpainted Furniture Nautical Fishing Theme

So I have been redecorating the little kids rooms into bigger kids room and for the little man in my life I decided to go with a "Sail Away with Me" theme. We have had this icky side tabel in out possession for a long time and everytime I look at it all I saw was fish. So with a little elbow grease it was transformed from this to this I think it is just the perfect addition to his room. And the more it gets banged around - because you know it will being almost 3 - ;) the better it will look. Hope you enjoy Tammy

With snow on the ground and the temps dipping it's beginning to look alot like Christmas. :) :) :) I thought it was a little too quiet for this time of year and I guess I was right. lol A last minute commission has come in and I have to design and paint up some custom made treasure chests for 3 little princesses. So the past 2 weeks have all been about SPRING. Dont you just Love that word. :D I have got my seeds that I can get started now up and growing. Yesterday I planted a bunch more herbs and bedding out plants. The greenhouse (more of a lean-to) design has been finalized by the man of the house. ;) Working for a lumber yard has its privlages. :) My wonderful husband has also started on my new raised garden bed boxes and 2 planters made from recycled pallets. Ill post pics when they are planted up. On top of the smell of dirt in the house I also have bits and pieces of fabric laying around. My BFF is expecting again and being a mom of 4, I think I have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesnt. So when I came across this pattern for a baby swaddler from Craft Gossip I just couldnt resist. There is Nothing better than being able to have 2 minutes to breathe when the babies are little. Halloween Creations

My favorite time of the year. Halloween is probably more busy around here then Christmas. 8 bins of Halloween vs. 3 of Christmas. ;) Decorating starts the first weekend in Oct and really doesnt stop. I keep telling my husband that it is a good thing I am not allowed to touch anything electrical or our yard would be animated all year long. HAHAHAHA This year we have moved to a much bigger space so that involves "mom" getting a little more creative. :) These are a few grave markers that i made up a few years ago and the life sized "snot rag" mache devil that I am in the process of finishing up. My husband and neighbout have been busy building my mini fences and everyone has been involved in decorating. Still have to put up the lighting, set up the sound effects, web and spiderize, finish the devils arms, carve the pumpkins .. oh my!!!! Id better get on it. Granite tabletops

Well not really I have a fully stocked canvas corner.. but I just wanted to switch it up a bit. In our home we are all about the 3 r's. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle so when these off cuts of granite used for counter tops were dropped off at the bin at my husbands work he called and asked if I would be interested. Well I am always up for a challenge. These are 2 garden table tops. The black one is in my little corner of the garden and the pinky one is a thank you gift for all the perenials she filled my garden with this spring. :) She has no idea she is getting it but cant stop talking about the one in my garden. I cant wait to see her face.

My DIY Wedding invites, bouquet and cake

Just thought I would post a few pictures of my latest endevour - Our Wedding "on a budget". If you have ever tried to price out the cost of getting married. You would know the that it is ridicously expensive. So with a budget of 2000 and my own hands here are some examples of what can be accomplished with the help of your local Dollar store. I had and idea of where I wanted to go with this wedding but color choces were pretty much left up to what I could find on sale. Colors ended up being Teal and Black 1. Invitations - Being a craft person, I did utilize some basics that I always have on hand: glue, white copy paper, Scissors. I did have to go out and purchase Card stock, ribbon, and a rubber stamp. 1. Get a piece of White card stock and stamp your image that you will be using for the front cover 2. I found the image for the invitations for free off the internet printed them off on a sheet of 8.5 * 11 Copy paper. This will give you a guide line on how large you want y
