I apologize for my absence

Ive been gone forever it feels like. Around Halloween I started feeling a little run down and didnt really thing about it - I have kids, lol. And over the past 3 years I have lost close to 60lbs, once again didnt think anything of it, isnt that what we all want. lol But at Christmas it got to the point that I thought I should go see a doc. Which has now resulted in being booked in for 2 surgeries in the next few months. Not cool! But at least I know it is not all in my head. So if I am away for longer burst in the next few months, please bare with me. I will be back. :)
Needless to say I havent been doing alot of anything but resting. But in the few good hours that I have had in the last few weeks, I did whip up this precious little babe.

How can you tell when the Holiday season has started??? By the amount of guests in your home. ;) LOL Another set has gone and just enough time to get sheets washed and put back on before the next set of guests arrive. This is one I finished at 4am but have been waiting for the snow to clear before I could get a good picture. It is an ACEO 2.5 * 3.5 inch watercolor on 140lb CP paper. Hope you enjoy.

Gold and Turquoise Watercolor Lizard Painting- ACEO

2.5 * 3.5 inch
watercolor on 140lb CP Arches SOLD
My kitchen table is been taken over with pre-school books, so ive had to resort to changing my artistic expression from medium/large sized works to whatever fits into the palm of my hand and can be moved quickly. LOL I dont mind because my 4 year old has been writing, spelling and sounding out words and starting to catch on to column adding. :) My 2.5 year old is a parrot so anything that we are working on that day is being picked up by X as well. I LOVE IT!  So with that said this is my latest little creature card ive been able to fit in. Hope you enjoy.

Although it does lend itself nicely to stone but still trying to come up with another use for this oddity.  These are 2 of the watercolors I fininished up this weekend. They are both ATC's measuring 2.5 * 3.5 inch and are painted on 140lb CP arches paper.

Brown Hair Woman - ATC

I heard the most thought provoking thing this week when it came to painting portraits. "Every skin tone is made up of the 3 primaries - yellow, red and blue. The only thing that makes us differant is the amount of water used.: I wish I can remember where I heard it, because it has so much truth to it. When i paint people, I use variations of the just the 3 primaries This is the latest in my portrait trading card series and was created using raw sienna, rose madder and cobalt blue. I love her little smirk, it adds a little something to an otherwise dull portrait. Hope you enjoy.

How to paint a portrait - Skin tones

Another art card 2.5 * 3.5 inch just trying to keep my paints wet. For the skin tones I used a mix of yellow ochre and rose madder (yes i do know that it is a fugitive color) with some UMB thrown in for the shadows. The background was painted with hookers green deep and cerelean blue, and the shirt comprises of hookers green, yellow ochre and rose madder for the shadows.
